My name is Bethany and I adore jewelry. That is reason enough to create, but I had a little motivation.
When I became engaged I began a quest to find something truly unique to make my wedding ensemble ideal. I discovered a sea of rhinestone and pearl jewelry. There were a million slight variations of the same theme, but nothing unexpected. to design my bridal jewelry. This led to making my bridesmaid jewelry, boutonnieres, bouquets, corsages, souvenir pins and center pieces. I couldn't stop myself. I was in awe of how wire could be transformed into such lovely wearable sculpture. On May 7, 2004 I not only said my wedding vows, I put my work on display. The response to my jewelry, bouquets, pins, and centerpieces was overwhelmingly positive. May 7th was the beginning of more than one new venture. I immediately began fulfilling requests for custom pieces.
I begin every piece as a miniature sculpture of freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones, swavorski crystals, sterling silver and 14kt gold-fill wire. I attempt to give every item in a set distinctive character. The balance, flow and delicacy achieved by wire wrapping is fascinating. I pride myself in paying attention to the details. I hope my passion is evident in my work.
